Why I write..

I was reading an article on The New Republic that was downplaying the Barack Obama blog, and they quoted him as saying (or, more likely, writing): "When you start writing you are able to discern where you're being false, where you're using clichés, where you're manufacturing emotion that's not really there, or where you're shying away from something that isn't necessarily flattering." I'm not sure why I write, or even more so, why I share what I write, but one thing I know I have experienced is exactly that: that putting things about yourself in writing and making them public is a path to know yourself better and, in consequence, live a more consistent and, hopefully, ever-improving life. I can also attest to the gratification that results from reading something you wrote about yourself in the past that still holds true. Then again, people have been keeping diaries for as long as there have been pens and paper, so one thing I can't claim is to be a groundreaking anthropologist.

Dialoguemos pues!
Un beso,
FINNY
