Honest Pleasure
Estoy en Madrid desde el lunes. El martes por la noche volvía al piso cuando vi un cartel semi-roto sobre una pared de Atocha; "¿Dice James?" Me acerqué, y decía que habían tocado en Madrid la semana pasada. Chin. Ni modo. La siuiente mañana fui al FNAC de Callao y al entrar al nivel de música moderna, vi un pequeño anuncio en la barra de atención al cliente: "James en La Riviera - Nueva Fecha - 8 de Mayo" y pensé, "¡Ostia! ¡¡Mañana!!" Así que pregunté si vendían entradas, y me dijeron que no, pero, aún tenían 'kits' de camiseta + entrada por 25€. Así que me compré mi kit y los vi el jueves. Tim salió al escenario con la ayuda de muletas; quizás relacionadas con el cambio de fechas. Desde el arranque, fue un concierto alucinante, y estar rodeado de tantos fans entusiastas sólo lo hizo mucho mejor; era una enorme fiesta, tanto sobre el escenario como abajo (y en la última canción ya no se hacía esa distinción.) Y daba tan buen rollo ver tantas caras sonrientes al final. ¡Casi por sí mismo hace que el viaje entero de tres semanas valiera la pena! On Tuesday night I was walking back to the apartment I'm staying in and saw a semi-torn poster on Atocha Street that caught my eye; "Does that really say James?" So I got closer, and it said they played Madrid last week. Shucks. The next morning I went to the FNAC on Callao and as I walked into the modern music floor I saw a small sign that said, "James at La Riviera - New Date - May 8" and I was like, "Oh my God! That's tomorrow!!" So I asked if they sold tickets, and they said tickets were sold out, but, they still had some 'kits' of T-shirt + ticket for 25€. So I bought mine and saw them on Thursday. Tim came on stage on crutches; probably related to the re-scheduling of the shows. From the get-go, it was an amazing show, and being surrounded by so many other enthusiastic fans only made it so much more better; it was a huge party, both on and off the stage (and on the last song they merged.) And it felt so nice seeing so many smiling faces after the show. Almost made my three-week trip to Spain worth it all by itself! Here's a video of the concert kicking off. | |
